Meet Chrisdel..

Jon and I met Chrisdel in 2010, there was something special about her. She was always smiling, friendly and playful.  We were complete strangers to her.

This is Chrisdel in 2010. She was 6 years old at that time. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up.

With her strong faith and hope, look at her now. After only 1 year in FLAG and with the help of her teachers and volunteers, she graduated top of her class! She will be going to a regular public school in June 2011. Her dream of being a nurse has begun. This is Chrisdel during  her speech at our graduation.  There were no dry eyes in the crowd. I felt her overwhelming gratitude to all the people who supported her for the last year. Just thinking about that day bring tears to my eyes.

Home is where the heart is..where is home??

It has been a week since we are back from our Philippine trip. It is hard to go back to the swing of things when our thoughts are with the girls back home. Though it is more bitter than sweet, we had a blast and I am so excited to share all the good news with you. Here's a sneak peek!

More updates coming soon!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again,

Food...food...and more food

Churros con chocolate at Dulcinea get better every year I visit.

Sizzling Plate, this is from a food court. Why can't Canada have this in their food court.

Mangoes bigger than some person's head. This one came from Monica's Godmother's mango farm. Can't wait to visit that farm. I am going to sit underneath the tree and wait for the mangoes to fall in my mouth.

This is in a food court. People!!! the conversion is 43 pesos to 1 Canadian dollar. Just imagine what you can eat for under $2

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again,

Bought the girls new shoes

All 15 girls got new shoes to use for their graduation and for the next school year. Sometimes we take small things for granted.

This is the first time all of them got new shoes

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again,
