I was daddy's little girl???? HUH?

When my mom visited us from the Philippines, we had great conversation on how I was when I was little girl. I don't remember any memories of my dad playing with me, telling me stories or even sitting on his lap. That's not how I grew up. He was a disciplinarian, stern and strict. That's how he grew up ( I was told).

My  mom told me when I was two, my dad bought me a biggest teddy bear from a vendor after working out of town ( he was not home most of the time). For the life of me, I can't remember that time and I wish I could.

3 years ago, my dad passed away after a long battle with emphysema. I spent 3 weeks with him while he was very ill. I came back home to Canada and 3 weeks later he was gone.  It was the most emotional 3 weeks of my life that I will never forget.

To my tatay, wherever you are, Happy Father's day!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again,

Hugs,

Monica

I'm sure he loved you. My dad was the same way, and I'm just now figuring out he just shows love differently than I do :)

Monica, Your photo is priceless. How fortunate you were to be with your father for 3 weeks. I was able to be with my father and mother 2 days prior to their unexpected passing. I know they are in heaven and awaiting all of us to join them. It will be a grand reuniting!
Hugs,
Becky Jane

I was moved by this. Made me miss my papa who is oceans away from me all the more. I'm sure your dad is taking care of you all the more now from wherever he is now. God bless, Monica!
